Artistic Response to Client's Ritual

The independent study for this week has been for me to create an artistic response to Brad's long boarding and Oriental Parade ritual. As the scans of my notes state (on a previous blog post):

Brad feels that the act of long boarding, the wind blowing in his face creates a sense of freedom and allows him to get in his own headspace. Going out after dark creates the sense and feeling of taking risks. He feels as though he has made the right decision escaping Wanganui and being able to be free in Wellington. He also feels that even though he is out after dark, he is still safe unlike back in Wanganui.

The space that he has chosen - the stone steps on oriental parade is a place where he can go and stop thinking about things. Clear his mind. Sitting next to the water, looking back at the city, the sounds of the water is calm and peaceful which reminds him of home. It is a place where he can take his mind off stressful days and immerse himself in his surroundings. A feeling of complete relaxation.

Our task is to create an artistic response to this ritual whether that be an image, a video, an audio file, a poem etc. I love to write, it is a little hobby of mine, therefore I have decided that I am going to create a piece of emotive writing but with the precursor that I do not tell the audience that the ritual is long boarding. Brad chose a really peaceful day to take his images for his ritual to portray the relaxation that his space has, therefore I am going to incorporate this into my writing.
